Application: Calcium silicon is available in lump, powder and cored wire form. It is a universal deoxidizing and desulfurizing agent in the production of high grade steels. In combination with aluminum, it is used where very high demands are made on castability, degree of purity and surface quality of steel.
CaSi is a potent deoxidizer in steel. The main benefit is the modification of non-metallic inclusions to form globular inclusions resulting in improved tensile and impact ductility. BaCaSi is more dense than CaSi resulting in better efficiency.
